Beautiful quiet and neat campground...friendly staff...we had a wonderful time!!
our first time camping here and this place put an unforgettable memory in our hearts very quite and peaceful , helpful and friendly staff. for the first time visitors there is a convenience store at the intersection of route 8 and old piseco rd you can buy wood groceries and diary wish we knew that before
Ive been to a few campgrounds around NY and this one isn't bad. Campgrounds were clean. It has basic bathrooms nearby (hole in the ground with a seat) with a really nice washroom 2 miles up the road. The views of the lake are nice with a short hike nearby to a amazing overlook. Mosquitos were a bit of an issue, bring plenty of spray and candles.
If I could give this place negative stars I would. No soap was provided in the latrines, and there were no flushing toilets. There's more, though. I've been camping my entire life, and never have I met a more condescending staff. One of the workers "babysat" us the entire time we were there because we were teenagers, and even resorted us to calling us the "dirty dozen." I regret ever going there; the only plus were the friends I brought, who were great sports, and the view from the tiny half beach.
I can't say I hated it really .. the ranger john was amazing .. the other one on the other hand the main ranger George W Wyant does not deserve his position! I am 35 years old been camping since I was kid and I have never felt so disrespected by a ranger in my life!!!! He was buddy buddy with the neighbors who were the ones who complained about my dog barking and a baby crying! My dog barked a a beagle walking by and sorry we had an infant teething!!! Pretty sure it was cause my dog is a pitbull/rottie mix! But the neighbors black lab could run free all weekend even tho the rules say leashes at all times!!! Same day we get talked to him and his wife r hanging out at the neighbors til 1030 making all sorts of noise and drinking!!!! But that's acceptable! I have pictures and videos of this!!! Never ever ever have I felt so on edge on a family vacation!!!! So if u want to stay there I suggest u call and find out when George isn't there and u will have a fantastic time!!!!!
